Website Policy

ChowHub is intended to be a free and fair community for food lovers and as such expects that its users are ethical and conduct themselves in a responsible manner. While we welcome your opinions and descriptions of your dining experiences, there are a few things we expect from every user.Users' activities especially as regards what they post publicly will be monitored and may be removed without notice. In some other cases such users' account may be deleted and prevented from using our services in the future.

  • Keep out the jumble:To make sure we collectively work towards building the highest-quality content that's useful to everyone, reviews need to be a minimum of 140 characters long. That's just about the length of a tweet, so it's convenient even for all you micro-bloggers. If you cover the food, service and ambiance, you shouldn't fall short on characters. If you fill the space with junk, we might have to remove the review altogether.
  • No spamming:Reviews should always be relevant. Advertisements, posts soliciting customers, mentioning other food-outlets within a review on another food-outlets page will be deleted without notice.
  • Keep it polished:Whether you're writing a 140-character snippet or a delightfully detailed account of your meal.Do not use foul, lewd, derogatory, hateful or abusive language. All junk posts will also be removed immediately. We, just like you, hate junk and will delete it whenever we see it. This also includes (but is not limited to) indication of a personal vendetta against a business and its associates.
  • Keep it fresh: You can only make one review per restaurant in seven (7) days; your most recent experience at a place counts. You're free to edit the review if a mistake is made.
  • Plagiarism is not allowed:Copying others' reviews or photos, or even re-posting your own in multiple places on ChowHub (in full or in part), is something that will not be tolerated.
  • Play by the rules: The content you add should be in compliance with ChowHub's Terms and Conditions, as well as local laws and regulations.
  • Seek help from the right people: ChowHub is a website and with no claims to be a court of law or a ministry of health (we aren't serious enough to do those jobs). If you have a dispute with a food outlet, or if you feel a food outlet does not measure up to health codes, we encourage you to contact the appropriate authorities directly. ChowHub is not the appropriate platform for reporting illegal activities, physical confrontations and health code violations, we encourage that such accusations be reported to the concerned authorities rather than being mentioned in reviews.

ChowHub is a great way for food outlets to reach out to the vast ChowFolk community. A few things you should keep in mind:
  • Keep your listing updated: While our team makes every effort to keep information on ChowHub up-to-date, we appreciate you updating your pages where necessary. We at ChowHub always want to keep users of ChowHub as well as your customers happy.
  • Don't solicit reviews: ChowHub seeks to be a fair community of food lovers. We do not allow or encourage food outlets to offer incentives for reviews (especially good ones) and this may actually cause deactivation of such food outlet's account. The best way to get reviews is to delight customers with your food and service. Selective solicitation and offering any type of compensation or kick-back for reviews is unfair, so you definitely want to keep away from that, too.
  • Respond to criticism positively: Criticisms are catalysts that make us strive to do better. Whenever you receive a negative feedback, do not panic; instead make the best use of that situation to improve your business. Remember that customers are always right and sometimes it is inevitable to be on the wrong side. Whenever this happens, take it in good stride. You can reply to show your customer that you care. Never use it as an avenue to hit back or even offer an incentive to such a customer. Your response can't be edited after posting, so choose your words well.
